There are miles of footpaths and Chemins, including the famous Chemin Du Grandmont that all start from your doorstep. The walks are varied and there is a stunning array of wildlife in the area, you will pass numerous lakes and lots of places to stop for a picnic.
For those interested in off road motorbikes and quads you can start your days riding straight from the property, there are miles upon miles of well marked and little used trails and routes. If you have ridden in the UK and have faced the stickwavers who frown upon bikers you will be in for a treat. The roads and paths here are for all to use and enjoy, no matter what your sport you will be greeted with waves and smiles. It really is off road heaven. We have our own Loncin 200cc road legal quad for hire.
For those interested in equestrian, you have so many peaceful Chemins to choose, all starting from the door of our stables. Experienced riders may be able to use our horses and ponies during their stay, so you can open your door, tack up in the indoor stables and head off for the day. We Can advise on routes and can meet you en route and bring you lunch. It really is stunning riding and you can go for hours and hours and never bore of the variety of riding and scenery. If you are interested in using our horses, please let us know in advance.
Mountain bike enthusiasts will find the riding here both varied and challenging. Just up the road from us is France singletrack course www.singletracksassos.com, a large course which runs through the forest, with tons of man made jumps and ridges. Even the most experienced rider will find some of the jumps extremely challenging.Secure storage for your bikes is on hand and facilities to wash down and oil the bikes after your days riding
There are several smaller lakes and waterways around Grandmont. The main places for swimming and watersports are Lac de Jones and lac saint paradoux, the latter being a huge lake with watersports galore, man made beaches, bars and beach side cafes, a great place to spend the day.
The peace and quiet and huge woodlands encourage a vast amount of wildlife. Birdwatchers will love the selection of birds in the area and the beautiful surroundings to sit and watch. Deer are everywhere, early mornings are best for spotting them, even wild boar have been spotted.
